Acupuncture is a branch of Chinese Medicine. It is a natural way to boost your immune system, improve circulation and calm the nervous system down. This creates an ideal situation in your body for optimal healing. Further, it directs your immune system to attend to targeted places in your body that are identified during a comprehensive consultation conducted in our first session and ongoing check-ins during each appointment.  Because Chinese Medicine views the body as a microcosm of the universe, acupuncture can be used to treat a wide range of conditions, including, but not limited to: immunosuppression, digestion, aches and pains, headaches, allergies, fertility, addiction, as well as emotional or metaphysical blockages. Treatments are tailored to your condition, take into consideration your unique constitution and lifestyle, and use the power of your own body to heal you. This is why acupuncture is so effective. Acupuncture addresses the root cause of your ailments and can be used with Chinese Medicine to develop a plan to prevent future ailments.

30-minute session

Cupping is an ancient Chinese medical treatment that also shows up in many other cultures. Suction cups made of glass, silicone or plastic are placed on the skin in order to flush specific areas with circulation. This is recommended for respiratory conditions, tight and stiff muscles such as with individuals working corporate desk jobs or others experiencing stress and anxiety, and for athletes or recreational sports players in need of a boost to their recovery. The suction in cupping creates negative pressure which aids in draining lymph and in facilitating myofascial release.

*This can be a standalone treatment or be included in your acupuncture treatment without extra charge. Due to contraindications, please be sure to disclose any medical conditions before making this appointment-

Facial Acupuncture

A completely holistic beauty treatment to bring a natural glow to your face, facial acupuncture improves your complexion, reduces fine lines and lifts sagging skin over the course of a series of visits. This treatment works by flushing fresh blood circulation into the face as well as facilitating drainage of toxins out of the body. It can improve your skin tone and skin texture, and it can lessen fine lines. During the same appointment, acupuncture points on the body can be utilized to balance and boost your constitution in order to maintain healthier skin. Your initial two-hour visit will include a comprehensive intake about your general health history. If you have not had any experience with acupuncture, it is recommended to receive either a regular acupuncture treatment or a facial gua sha treatment first.

*Please be advised that this is a beauty treatment and cannot be covered by insurance. There maybe some situations in which it is contraindicated or not appropriate. In order to receive this treatment you must be pre-screened via phone call. This takes about 10-20 min.

Facial Gua Sha

This treatment involves a facial massage using a gua sha board, which is a jade or rose quartz tool. This treatment lifts sagging skin and relaxes the muscles of the face in order to prevent fine lines. It is also effective in addressing tension headaches or jaw tightness. Included in this treatment is a hydrating mask, jade rolling, facial cupping, thyroid-balancing lymph drainage, facial/scalp massage and constitutional acupuncture points to aid the facial treatment. (You may choose to have this treatment without the constitutional acupuncture, however it is highly recommended!)  If you’re interested in facial acupuncture but have not had any experience with acupuncture, please consider facial gua sha first.

Herbal Consultation

30-minute consultation

During an herbal consultation, we will explore your general health history and lifestyle as they relate to your presenting condition. Based on a combination of your objectives and my medical recommendations, I will choose or create an herbal formula for you in the form of tea pills or in granules/powder. Herbal formulas are both effective in enhancing the effects of acupuncture treatments and are a more natural alternative to prescription medication.

An herbal consult can be included in your regular acupuncture appointments without extra charge or can be a standalone session if you are not receiving acupuncture.

*Please Note: The cost of this session does not include the cost of herbs.

Auricular Acupuncture

30-minute session

Acupuncture is administered only in the ears in this treatment. It is extremely effective to address smoking cessation, anxiety, insomnia or other sleep troubles, headaches, and/or stress. In a series, auricular acupuncture can start to address hormonal and nervous system imbalances. It is particularly recommended for when you are looking for a pick-me-up for general wellness or when your schedule does not permit a longer session.

Yoga lessons are offered on a limited one-on-one basis to current acupuncture patients on Saturdays and Sundays. This offering is specifically for those who are looking to improve range of motion or postural imbalances as a supplement to their acupuncture process, and is suggested for women interested in pre-natal yoga private lessons.
